Women Lawyers of Charlotte
Born and raised in Virginia, Emily graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in French from James Madison University in 1990. She later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor in 1997. Following a one-year clerkship at the state Court of Appeals in Raleigh, NC, she relocated to Charlotte to work for a firm specializing in family law and litigation, where she honed her skills in client representation. Married to a real estate investor and developer in 2003, Emily broadened her career to include real property sales, management, investing, and marketing.
Due to personal experience with infertility in the mid-2000’s, Emily developed a particular interest in adoption and assisted reproductive technologies law. Since joining Claiborne Fox Bradley Goldman in March 2022, she has helped expand our services by developing our estates practice in the Charlotte office. Emily’s breadth of professional and personal experience makes her a valuable addition to our team.
The Zarbatanys live in historic Plaza Midwood, Charlotte with their two children. Emily enjoys yoga, running and quiet early mornings with coffee and a good book, as well as sailing and other adventures with her family. Traveling and attending their son and daughter’s football, wrestling and equestrian events are highlights of the Zarbatany family’s time together.
